Where new work is shown, finally
Some months ago I was contacted by the people at Gallery Nucleus with an invitation to take part in their charity project Power in Numbers. Gallery Nucleus is an amazing site and it was quite an appealing proposal, so I said inmediately yes. All submissions to this project must be “one-of-a-kind original or mixed media” artwork, and must be sized 5” x 7”, so I had to deal with two of my personal challenges: working at a smaller scale than that I’m used to, and… well, not using Photoshop.
You can see the results below. I have lovingly completed these three pieces which will be available for sell very soon in the PIN page. The three of them were done with brush (for the linework) and mostly airbrush (for the colors). Airbrushing was the best way I found to get the flat but somewhat rough colors that you, dear worthy reader, know I love. I used a combination of different inks, and Windsor & Newton 250g. bristol board. And yes, I took some photos of the process, so you’ll see a detailed post soon.

Meanwhile, long ago.

Untitled.

The secret of the universe.
This illustrations will be put online at the PIN gradually, so stay tuned if you’re interested.
