Most probably these three illustrations will be my final contribution to the Seres Queridos project; they will be used in the programme handout of the play. I intended to do a couple of additional drawings or so, but the premiere will take place next Monday and there’s little time left for more.
Each drawing shows one of the actresses interacting with this sort of dummy character, which represents a loved, missing person -a ghost, if you prefer to call it so. I admit that I was a bit reluctant to draw specific prop elements from the play, such as these stuffed legs (which are quite curious artifacts in real life); I’m not sure if they look as good in an illustration as they do on stage. But anyway, I’m satisfied with how the drawings turned out.
This time, I decided to try something very lo-fi for the shading and colors. I used markers, charcoal and a little help from our friend Photoshop.
Oh, and why can’t you post a Tumblr photoset with three images one after the other, in a plain single column? That would be ace.
